Auckland, 13 December 2014 - It’s official: CBRE New Zealand is the World’s Best Property Consultancy. The commercial property services consultancy’s New Zealand arm has just won the title of World’s Best Property Consultancy at the International Property Awards in Dubai, demonstrating the high standards to which Kiwi businesses are performing on the global stage.
CBRE Senior Managing Director New Zealand, Brent McGregor, said: “Winning both the Best Property Consultancy for New Zealand and the Best Property Consultancy for the Asia Pacific region this year were outstanding achievements, but to win the world-wide award is phenomenal. We’re ending a hugely successful year on a high note.”
McGregor says the win demonstrates the value in global businesses having a strong local touch in their approach to services; “The property landscape in New Zealand is a unique one. From the yields, to the regulatory changes due to building strengthening and a lack of land in Auckland, to the diverse culture of the country and its people, our team wouldn’t be able to operate from a satellite business.”
McGregor says CBRE New Zealand’s approach goes beyond the old adage of “Think global, act local.” He says the CBRE NZ team has its roots in New Zealand, with insight - and foresight - into how the local market acts and responds, and how to best present and position properties for sale.
He adds: “This most recent award strengthens CBRE New Zealand in the portfolio of high flying Kiwi businesses that are absolutely dominating on the world stage. From export businesses to cloud software firms, to international awards in the arts, to professional services like we offer, businesses with their roots in New Zealand are bringing their A game to an increasingly competitive operating environment and we’re proud to be leading the charge.
“Our professionals work hard every day to deliver the best real estate services to our clients, and these accolades are a testament to their efforts. It is a tremendous feather in our cap to be officially recognised as the best property consultancy internationally.”
McGregor says being the winner of the IPA will deliver global exposure for CBRE New Zealand which will support internationally marketed campaigns, as well as attracting off-shore investment into the country through increased profile.
“It is proven that the prestigious IPA global title generates a significant increase in sales and business as a direct result of winning an award. What’s more, award winners in the past have reported higher brand awareness and heightened staff morale, so we are expecting a number of positive flow-on effects from taking out the title of best property consultancy in the world - in addition to the prestige of the title itself, of course.”
This award is the culmination of a process that that began when CBRE New Zealand was named Best Consultancy in New Zealand earlier this year. Country winners then went forward into an Asia Pacific judging process.
On 9 May this year, CBRE NZ was recognised as the Best Property Consultancy in Asia Pacific at the Asia Pacific International Property Awards in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This qualified CBRE New Zealand for entry into the worldwide awards, where the agency competed against other regional winners from Africa, Arabia, Europe, UK and the Americas to find the ultimate World’s Best Property Consultancy.
CBRE New Zealand’s submission exceeded the criteria set, based on a company overview, marketing collateral, business services offered and the innovation of the company on a local level.
