Tania Dalton Foundation | Mahina Paul and Andrew Stringer

CBRE is proud to help gifted young sportswomen achieve their potential in support of Tania Dalton Foundation.

Tania Dalton Foundation, created in honour of the sporting legend whose presence would fill the room, has named the first deserving recipients of its new Scholarship Programme. This is the first initiative for the Foundation, in honour of Tania’s passion for supporting young women in sport.

Talented touch rugby player, Mahina Paul, 17, is one of the first recipients of the Scholarship Programme and will be supported by CBRE.

From Whakatane, Mahina is the youngest of seven siblings and attends Saint Kentigern College in Auckland.

Last year, Mahina was selected for the New Zealand Women’s Touch Blacks Squad. Her immediate sporting goals are to make the Under 18 Women’s Team to compete at the 2018 Youth World Cup in August and then to make the Women’s Touch Blacks team to compete at the 2019 World Cup in Malaysia.

Andrew Stringer, Senior Managing Director New Zealand, said he was thrilled to support the Programme and to help make a positive impact on the lives of budding New Zealanders.

“Tania Dalton was an inspiration to young Kiwi sportswomen and we look forward to being part of the Foundation’s commitment to the future generation of sporting stars in New Zealand.

“CBRE is proud to continue its commitment to the community by guiding young women to lead their best lives, inspired through sport.”

Tania Dalton Foundation’s scholarship programme will provide financial assistance, one-on-one support and personal development opportunities for young women who are very talented at their chosen sport. The aim is to help them to achieve their potential, develop as a person and make a difference in their communities.

Founder and husband, Duane Dalton, says the programme will provide financial, mentorship and personal development support to young women from challenging circumstances to unlock their talent and enable them to live their biggest life.

“Helping young people was a passion of Tania’s and through the work of the Foundation, we have the ability to honour her memory in a way she would have been proud of. The Foundation strives to make a real impact and the calibre of young women selected is extremely high – not just in terms of ability, but also in the potential to really help these girls. Tania would be bursting with pride,” says Duane.
