The construction sector has faced numerous issues and challenges over the past three years. Some of these include supply chain, sourcing of labour, and poor weather. BDO’s 2023 Construction Sector Report noted that the majority of projects in the last six months had experienced some sort of delay, and only 12% have been completed on time. CBRE data on the start and finish date of new build apartments shows a similar trend in lengthening build times since the pandemic.
