Mitchell Wallace

Mitchell Wallace leads CBRE's Office Leasing team in Christchurch, advising landlords, developers and occupiers across the CBD and fringe office markets. Approaching a decade in Christchurch's commercial property sector, Mitchell began his career with Bayleys before joining CBRE, where he has developed a reputation for delivering complex office leasing transactions and providing strategic advice to major occupiers and property owners.

Specialising in large-scale corporate leasing, Mitchell has substantial experience advising listed entities, multinational organisations and institutional property owners. He has a strong understanding of the governance, approval processes and stakeholder management requirements associated with significant real estate decisions, helping organisations navigate complex leasing transactions with confidence and clarity.

Mitchell is a strong advocate for a structured and disciplined leasing process, guiding clients through every stage of the journey, from workplace planning and accommodation strategy through to site selection, lease negotiations and project delivery. His experience advising both landlords and occupiers provides clients with a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics and transaction strategy.

Throughout his career, Mitchell has completed a number of Christchurch's most significant office leasing transactions, with a particular focus on large corporate occupiers and new office developments. Notable assignments include advising on Seequent's headquarters relocation to 224 Cashel Street, one of the city's landmark corporate office transactions. He has also played a key role in the leasing and delivery of several major office projects that have helped shape Christchurch's post-pandemic office market.

Mitchell's achievements have been recognised both locally and nationally, receiving CBRE New Zealand's Excellence in Agency – Most Improved Award in 2023 and the Managing Director's Award in 2025. In 2026, he was selected to join CBRE Pacific's Pacific Leasing Executive Future Leaders programme, recognising him as one of the emerging leaders within CBRE's leasing business across the Pacific region.
