Steve Fitzgerald

Since joining TelferYoung (now CBRE) in 2013, Steve has primarily worked in the rural and residential/lifestyle markets in the Waikato, Waipa and Matamata-Piako districts, providing advisory services and valuations for all the main financial institutions. His specialist areas of expertise include compensation valuations for the acquisition and disposal of land under the Public Works Act, in particular land taken for the Waikato Expressway.

Steve started his valuation career in New Plymouth in 1987 with Landcorp, before transferring to the Wellington office a year later. During his 15 years in Wellington, he gained experience in the administration of Crown assets and investigating residential development of Crown owned land, as well as rural and residential valuations. During that time he built extensive relationships and connections throughout the Wellington region, including local banks, solicitors and accountants.

In 2001, Steve joined Westpac Agribusiness as a rural manager and relocated to Hamilton with his family early in 2002. He spent almost 11 years with Westpac (based in Morrinsville), gaining valuable rural knowledge and banking expertise, including managing a large portfolio of farming clients.
