CBRE is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Real Estate Agency of the Year by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). This accolade recognises the company’s exceptional achievements, professionalism, and commitment to ethical standards in 2023.
CBRE New Zealand’s Industrial & Logistics team secured the win after achieving outstanding outcomes on several significant projects:
- Ruakura Superhub: Played a key role in the project team that transformed the 490-hectare Ruakura Superhub into a key North Island logistics location.
Helping facilitate major tenant relocations on behalf of Tainui Group Holdings, including Kmart’s first New Zealand distribution centre and Maersk’s state-of-the-art cold store facility. - Fisher & Paykel Healthcare: Secured a 104-hectare site in Drury for Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, marking a record $275 million transaction.
This acquisition will enable the creation of a new campus, shaping the next 30+ years of Fisher & Paykel Healthcare’s operations. - Sale of the GPC Building in Wiri: Managed the sale of GPC’s 33,468sqm warehouse and office distribution facility, the largest industrial transaction in 2023, exceeding $100 million. The global marketing campaign attracted eight serious bids, demonstrating CBRE’s ability to secure international interest and achieve market-leading outcomes.
CBRE’s commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and ethics was evident in their strategic advice, data-driven intelligence, and innovative approaches. The team’s work on the Ruakura Superhub involved extensive data analysis and collaboration with Tainui Group Holdings to ensure optimal commercial outcomes and sustainability.
The ‘One CBRE’ approach was instrumental in the team’s success, fostering deep, trusting relationships and seamless coordination across various projects. This collaborative spirit was particularly evident in the Fisher & Paykel Healthcare transaction, where meticulous research and innovative land purchase strategies were employed.
CBRE’s innovative strategies included rebranding the Ruakura Superhub to highlight its comprehensive development potential and employing advanced GIS technology for site evaluation. Sustainability was a core focus, with initiatives at Ruakura aimed at reducing carbon footprints and enhancing ecological values.
