CBRE New Zealand Celebrates Dual Wins at RICS Awards 2025

These accolades reflect the depth of expertise, strategic thinking, and client-first approach that underpin CBRE’s market leadership across New Zealand’s real estate sector.
The Real Estate Agency Team of the Year award was presented to CBRE’s Christchurch Capital Markets team, led by Tim Rookes and Cameron Darby, with support from John Holmes and in Auckland. Operating in a challenging market, the team delivered four of New Zealand’s ten largest commercial property transactions in 2024. Highlights included introducing KiwiSaver capital into South Island industrial property and enabling a strategic partnership between Fletcher Living and Woolworths NZ, unlocking a major mixed-use development in one of Christchurch’s largest suburbs.
This marks CBRE’s second consecutive win and third in four years in this category, reinforcing the team’s reputation for navigating complex transactions and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
The Real Estate Advisory Team of the Year award recognised CBRE’s Structured Transactions and Advisory Services (STAS) team, supported by the Hotel Valuations team, for their work on the Chateau Tongariro project. Acting as trusted advisors to the Department of Conservation (DOC), the team delivered independent advice, feasibility analysis, and an off-market sounding exercise within a dual World Heritage site. Their work simplified complex data into clear, actionable options, helping shape DOC’s future decisions. Special recognition goes to Natasha Sarkar, Michael Cocks, and Peter Hamilton for their outstanding contributions.
